Our period is one of the most natural things in the world. It shows that we have the possibility to have children and it purifies our body. So nothing to be ashamed of, right? Yet, we still hear comments like "She's on her period" or "Disgusting". Periods are strongly stigmatized for many people, but what does that mean in everyday life? Many menstruating women are ashamed of their periods and sometimes severely restricted by them. In many parts of the world, menstruating people do not have access to suitable hygiene products, which is why many of them spend the time of their periods at home. As a result, they do not have the same opportunities at school or at work. How we feel during our period or what we want to do is very different individually. However, it should not be determined by whether we can wash regularly with clean water during our period or whether we have access to suitable period products. This should be a given. Everywhere. Take Action Uganda is taking action on this. How? By producing sanitary pads with their students in their sustainable education program. For Astrid from Starkstromhippie, it is also an absolute matter of the heart to take away the stigma around menstruation. What could be more fitting than this collaboration? We are very pleased that we had the opportunity to design this collection together. Because our period should only be our Cup of Tea.
